Cosmic Legions Brainer Mechroticon Action Figure

Born from one of Cosmerrium’s most disturbing technological experiments, Brainer is the first known Mechroticon and a haunting example of what happened when scientists attempted to combine Autonomous Construct Unit technology with organic life.

The second generation of Autonomous Cybernetics Unit technology was designed to go far beyond conventional cybernetic enhancement. Rather than simply adding mechanical components to a living body, the ACU-2 program sought to bring life itself to machinery by integrating Construct Unit mechanics directly with organic forms. The results were nothing like what its creators intended.

The failed experiments produced beings known as Mechroticons—organic data conduits trapped in a state somewhere between life and death. ACU-2 cybernetics were combined with injections derived from Cephalosite genetic material, originally intended to prevent the host body from rejecting its mechanical additions. Instead, the process created an unexpected form of suspended existence.

Although the bodies of Mechroticons appear horribly decayed, their physical condition is actually remarkably healthy. Unlike Cephalosites, which gradually consume and destroy their hosts, the Mechroticon process appears to preserve its subjects. Beyond their corpse-like appearance, they show virtually no measurable signs of aging.

The disturbing consequences of the experiments eventually led to ACU-2 technology being banned throughout all Five Circles. Officially, the program no longer exists. Unofficially, rumors persist of hidden Mechroticon colonies scattered throughout Cosmerrium. Their extraordinary ability to process and transmit data would make such colonies an incredibly valuable intelligence resource for whoever controls them.

The first of these unnatural creations was an individual eventually named Brainer. Liberated from captivity by the clandestine organization known as the Mortal Thorn, Brainer has since become an important part of the group's intelligence operations, using his unique abilities for data gathering and analysis.
